Working Principle for Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser system: It delivers light of specific wavelengths with high energy, which is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo resulting in a shockwave that shatters the pigment particles, releasing them from their encapsulation and breaking them into fragments small enough for removal by the body. The body eliminates these tiny particles and since this specific wavelength can only be absorbed by pigment particles, no injury to the skin and normal tissue will occur.
